Then your doing it wrong, because it works for everyone else.
Reread the tutorial and try again.
If all else fails...tell us exactly what u are doing and we will tell u where you are going wrong.

Either that or restart ur computer, after installing a new version of IMVU, you often need to restart ur computer before the codes work.

These are really good!
I just wish they worked like actions so another avatars can be involved.
I have to say my favorite is the tantrum when you use the code 2110.

You need to downgrade your version of IMVU, they just blocked this h4c|< with their last update, but we are working on a file to fix that. In the mean while use this version: http://imvu.com/installers/InstallIMVU_395.0_full.exe
