You can use Google to search for what's trending on a specific topic.

For Example: https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=IMVU

This link shows you all of the trending Google searches related to IMVU.

You can add extra terms to narrow it down even further

For example: https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=imvu%20sex

I often use google trends to decide which projects to invest time into.

Right now, IMVU's popularity is the lowest it's been since 2006, but you can still capitalize on IMVU by focusing on related trends.
