Making deriavbles from derivables question

People like to do this to me ever since I started developing. When I make a derivable mesh, I will get someone who derives from it and just makes a derivable product out of it, even though my product page clearly states to set yours to non derivable. This ticks me off because I feel like I am being back stabbed or being undercut. But thinking about it more, if someone derives from their product, does it actually hurt my sales in any way? Am I wrong or do I actually get a smaller cut when someone derives from them and then that product is purchased?

You get the same profit.

The only person loosing out is the customer who now has to pay a higher price.

Really? So if I set my product to have a profit of 100cr and someone derives from it and then someone derives from their product and then that product gets sold, I still make 100cr for that sale?

Lets hope you're right. I contacted the person and they apologized and said they didn't read my description (figures..) and couldn't figure out how to change to product so hopefully you're correct and I don't have to worry about it trying to file a ticket. I doubt IMVU would do anything about it anyway so I'd probably be stuck where I am now loosing profit if you're wrong $:\$

A few insignificant times. But this is the discussion section so that's what were doing. I just want to get all the info ab out this cause this isn't the first time people have done this to me and I wanna know if it's something I need to do something about.

yes you get profit on whatever your profit is set at. i know it works for the fact that i have done it but i only set 1 credit profit trying to boost my Sales (derived) tier points since thats the hardest one to get points on. however if you dont want them to leave it as derivable since you stated its not allowed just send a help ticket to report it. im not sure reporting the item works since i just looked and there was nothing to report on not following directions.

Okay, awesome. That's good to hear. I am glad someone can't undercut me or fuck me over doing this.

Something to consider....i think if your item is derived from your profit is set. Cant change the price after, so have to choose wisely. I could be wrong though but thats what i understood.
