New Chat Room Interface

I'm not sure if players generally like the new IMVU chat room interface installed a few days ago. IMHO, I don't like it. For my 'puter, it's too slow and laggy. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it."

The change alarmed me as i dont remember making an update. I just took a glance at it, so first impression. The room pics are fricken HUGE!! i thought i was a pre-schooler looking at a picture book. And dont know why the avatar is fricken there. oh well guess the imvu elves needed something to work on.

I haven't got to use it yet because I guess its still in testing but you can go to settings and uncheck the feature to turn it off.

it's a bit laggy but I kind of like it.

Laggy. It took me 6 seconds to load 'Chat Rooms' mode. I am guessing this is because of the giant 3d avatar that is needlessly loaded on the right side of the screen.

I will admit, it looks cool. The giant avi is just heavy on my graphics card. If 'Chat Rooms' mode is at the front, it takes 3 seconds to minimize or to bring IMVU's window to the front; while with any other mode it is instant.

Loaded fine for me. Not laggy at all. However I think it's dumb and convoluted, making it take longer to find a room. The avatar preview makes no sense to me and seems like a waste of development time.

Thanks much, Rex. That is very helpful. At least, we have an option to turn off the new chat rooms interface.

I hate the new chat interface. I was really annoyed that it changed without warning, but glad that there was an option to turn it off. From what I saw it didn't seem like the search function worked as well either. Also, it seems like just another convoluted popularity contest to get your room up on the featured theme list.

As far as lag issues... it worked fine on my desktop, but my laptop didn't like it one bit. My laptop hates IMVU everyday though. :lol:

its not bad but would be better if it looked like the old interface. the new look is kinda bulky and you have to let it drop down some before being able to click the info button. i do hope they let us keep the option of picking which interface we'd like to use.

I don't think I like it either, everytime I get an update something is changed, and I liked IMVU the way it was, and as for the popularity contest, all of IMVU is a popularity contest, I entered a Halloween re-testure contest, and my fit was amazing, but did I win, heck no...IMVU really ticks me off, but I stay now for my soul mate

anyways aside from my ADD off topic rant...roflmmfao...anyways what I was trying to say is I don't like it either. :badgrin:
