How to protect yourself from Hackers

My friend just got h4c|<7d by someone using phising site. She got tricked into logging a website that offers free credits. Just few minutes later, she cannot login her account and she has to reset it, once she got it back. Her credits got stolen. I will now show this forum and this specific topic to her so she will know how she can protect herself. She's been depressed since that day and even made a new account because she got scared. And now she is just a free user and scared of buying more credits.

im not sure if hackers even exist on imvu, just dont give out your password

Thank you all for sharing your info, comments. I think its eazy to get comfy and lazy and let our guard down sometimes. Its uplifting to read the forums and be reminded to do self checks sometimes.
