I said the answer is SAND. Why can't it be?

1. Although Broken : SANDS = BROKEN PIECES OF STONE
2. Always exist and surround us : Ofcourse, Yes; Sand always exist and surround us
3. Don't like to be confined in them : It is true that sand break further into small particles. So they are not confined to the same state.
4.They shall outlive us all : This is also true that sand outlive us
