No problem, I hope I helped answer some questions. It's really simple to do, just need to log into your router & go to the port section & type in the port numbers the specific program you want to port forward uses. Then select if it's UDP or TCP. Then click apply. At least that's how simple it is for all the routers I've ever owned.

Port forwarding has a lot of uses. Personally I port forward all my p2p/torrent programs for faster D/L speeds & the ability to connect on a primary connection instead of piggy backing off someone else on the network. Mostly for the old p2p ProgramWinMX.
